The work which consists of five elements: a disc, a wing, a rail and two hoops, is set to recall the myth of the coming to Japan of Niniginomikoto, a prince and grandson of the goddess of light, Amaterasu. The general symbolism of the work is of a landing or coming to earth of a celestial shape, the disc. The disc is taking root, and from its cut-out mouth emerges a grid structure, suggesting an integration with the land and its people. The wing element is acting precariously as a carrier from the sky descending to earth. All the elements together with the rail and two hoops are set to provide movement and rest in a floating world of hills and valleys. The yellow coloring on the side of the disc only suggests that a great light has colored the disc and grids form a northerly direction. The red color by contrast implies cast shadow of a more primitive origin. The action is taking place through light and wind. People are invited along, and walk through, led into the work itself.
